Oil & Gas Awards Judges Comments

“Worthington/Westerman are industry leaders in gas field equipment.”

“The addition of Westerman, with its long history in the oil & gas supply field, was a key strategic move into the oil & gas industry. I appreciated the company’s response to the customer problem with the BernzOmatic Extended Reach Torch.”

Worthington Industries – Corporate Overview

Worthington Industries is a market leader in value-added steel processing, pressure cylinders and heavy equipment cab manufacturing. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Worthington Industries and its joint ventures have 82 facilities in 11 countries and more than 10,000 employees; among which provide global customer service with multi-lingual sales, product and technical support teams.

With a 50-year history of tank manufacturing in industrial gas, alternative fuels and consumer products, Worthington brings custom solutions for energy storage, processing and transportation. The Company recently acquired Garden City, Kansas-based Palmer Manufacturing & Tank and Westerman Companies with two Ohio-based facilities.

“The Palmer and Westerman businesses strengthen our energy position and fit our strategy to geographically expand in the oil and gas industry,” said Andrew Billman, president of Worthington’s pressure cylinder business. Billman added, “This strategy allows us to participate in the expanding North American oil and gas markets, as well as global growth in alternatives for gas and diesel to power vehicles, which include compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), autogas (propane) and hydrogen.”

Worthington now operates manufacturing facilities in Bremen, Ohio; Wooster, Ohio; and Garden City, Kansas, adding value to an already impressive offering of oil and gas storage and separation equipment.
