Dr. Kristie S. McLin is the Water Management Project Lead for ConocoPhillips’ Mid-Continent Business Unit. Kristie is responsible for aligning and integrating all aspects of water management into a holistic strategy for the asset, including sourcing, transfer, storage, disposal, and reuse. She recently presented Permian Unconventional Water Management: Collaboration to Develop Full Cycle Solutions (SPE-174538-MS) at the SPE Produced Water Handling and Management Symposium. This paper highlights the collaboration and integrated perspective required to develop an economic and sustainable water management strategy that addresses the full life cycle of water. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips in 2012, Kristie researched production and injection scale, impacts of scale mitigation strategies, and chemical and thermal stability of proppants in geothermal systems at the Energy and Geoscience Institute at the University of Utah. She also was a consultant for the petroleum and geothermal industries addressing the impact of water-rock interactions on production and injection processes. She holds a B.S. and M.S. from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and a PhD from the University of Utah.
