Judging Process

The judging process is without a doubt the most important part of the Oil & Gas Awards. Without the judges and the rigorous process in place to ensure the nominations are treated fairly, the Awards would hold no value.

The Oil & Gas Awards are inviting an even broader mix of E&P, midstream and comprehensive oilfield service company employees, community stakeholders, independent experts, and respected industry veterans to make up our panel of judges in each region.

This will help us achieve an even more accurate and complete picture of what defines success, and ensure the best nominations continue to take home the trophies on the night.

We have broken the mould and reached out to find talented and experienced industry professionals, equipped with the relevant skill sets to judge the categories they know best.

In the interests of impartiality and transparency, our network of judges will not be permitted to judge the categories their own organizations have entered.

The relevant nominated category experts will be provided with the nominees. That panel will be asked to provide, on a points scoring system, 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category. This points tally will provide the list of finalists.

In each category, the finalist with the highest number of votes at first count will be declared winner on the night. In the event of a tie, all the judges will be asked to choose between the top two tied-nominees once more.

In each case judges will be asked to supply comments and feedback on their choices.

With the identities of the winners being kept a closely-guarded secret until the ceremony, it is only on this website and through our media partner associates that Oil & Gas Awards will reveal the shortlisted finalists. Embargoed results will be shared with our Association partners prior to the Finalists being announced, to verify the results on the night.

Judges reserve the right to interview nominees and verify the claims of participating companies.
