The mission of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for 21st Century Energy is to unify policymakers, regulators, business leaders, and the American public behind a common sense energy strategy to help keep America secure, prosperous, and clean. Through policy development, education, and advocacy, the Institute is building support for meaningful energy action at the local, state, national, and international levels.

To secure America’s long-term energy security, America must reexamine outdated and entrenched positions, become better informed about the sources of our fuel and power, and make judgments based on facts, sound science, and good American common sense.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for 21st Century Energy was founded for this purpose: to unify energy policymakers, regulators, business leaders, and the American public behind a common sense strategy that ensures affordable, reliable, and diverse energy supplies, improves environmental stewardship, promotes economic growth, and strengthens national security.

Through policy development, education, and advocacy, the Institute is actively building support for meaningful action on energy. The Energy Institute’s comprehensive Energy Works for US platform provides specific recommendations for policymakers that will help America achieve its full potential.

The decisions that our political leadership makes on energy in the coming years will affect Americans for generations to come. Future generations deserve the proper far-sighted decisions that will help keep America secure, clean, and prosperous.
