Amy Oliver CookeAmy Oliver Cooke – EVP Director, Energy Policy Center – The Independence Institute

Amy Oliver Cooke is the Executive Vice President and Director of the Energy Policy Center for the Independence Institute, Colorado’s free market, state-based think tank. She manages the Institute’s educational outreach efforts for Kids Are First and Bring In the Vote. She has been with II since 2004.
She is also the host of the award winning Amy Oliver Show heard on News Talk 1310 KFKA Monday through Friday from 9 to 11 am. In 2008, the Colorado Broadcasters Association recognized her with the Award of Excellence for Best News Talk personality in a major market. She was recognized again in 2011 with the Award of Merit for Best News Talk personality in a major market.


Brad HollyBrad Holly – SVP Operations (Rockies) – Anadarko Petroleum Corporation

Mr. Holly was named Vice President of Anadarko’s Rockies operations in May 2013. Previously, he served as Vice President of Southern and Appalachia operations beginning July 2012. Prior to that, he served as General Manager of the Greater Natural Buttes and General Manager of the Maverick Basin. Mr. Holly has more than 17 years of experience in oil and natural gas exploration and production, having begun his career with Amoco in 1994. Since joining Anadarko in 1997, he has held positions of increasing responsibility in onshore and offshore engineering and management, including Reserves and Planning Manager for the Southern and Appalachia region, and as a reservoir engineer and development supervisor for Anadarko’s Marco Polo and K2 developments in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

Robert D. Comer has a diverse legal and scientific background focused on achieving business solutions to regulatory, compliance, permitting, operating and transactional challenges in the mining, oil, gas, energy and other natural resource industries. Bob has held senior leadership positions with industry and the federal government and is well known for his ability to design and implement effective solutions to legal challenges impeding permitting, operations and corporate objectives.


Christopher GuithChristopher Guith – SVP Policy – Institute for 21st Century Energy, U.S. Chamber of Commerce

Christopher Guith is senior vice president for policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for 21st Century Energy (Energy Institute). He is responsible for developing the Institute’s policies and initiatives as they apply to the legislative, executive, and regulatory branches of the federal and state governments. Specifically, Guith leads the development of the Energy Institute’s policies and messaging relating to oil and natural gas and nuclear energy. He led the Chamber’s Shale Works for US campaign, which analyzed and promoted the widespread benefits of shale energy development in America.


Corey GouletCorey Goulet – President Keystone Projects and Vice President, Project Development- TransCanada

As President, Keystone Projects, Corey Goulet has overall accountability for the development and implementation of all phases of the Keystone Pipeline including securing land and permits, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up and testing. As Vice President, Project Development, Mr. Goulet has accountability for the development of new oil and gas projects that are not associated with other TransCanada projects or operating assets. Mr. Goulet has 27 years of energy infrastructure experience. His experience is varied and has focused on the development, construction, operation and maintenance of natural gas, wind, hydro, nuclear and transmission power facilities; gas, oil and refined products pipelines; and oil and gas production facilities. He joined the company in 1998 as a manager in the international business unit where he was responsible for developing projects. Since that role, he has lead various departments including pipeline engineering, energy projects, and nuclear technical development. Mr. Goulet is a former member of the Operations and System Integrity subcommittee for CSA Z662 Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems. In addition, he represented TransCanada for two years as a Board member, Executive Committee member, and Planning Committee member with the Pipeline Research Council International, Inc. (PRCI). Mr. Goulet has also been a Board member for two joint venture companies. Born and raised near Edmonton, Alberta, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta in 1985.


Doug FlandersDoug Flanders – Director of Policy & External Affairs – COGA

Doug Flanders serves as Director of Policy & External Affairs at COGA. Doug worked for U.S. Congressman Wayne Allard in various capacities including Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director. He received a Presidential appointment to the Department of Energy as the Senior Policy Advisor for Environmental Management. Doug moved from Washington, D.C. to Colorado in 2005 to serve as the policy advisor to Jefferson County. In mid-2007, Doug received a second Presidential appointment as the Senior Advisor to the Regional Administrator (RA) for the U.S. General Services Administration’s Rocky Mountain Region. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.


Howard DieterHoward Dieter – Director, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Corporate Regulatory Compliance – Jonah Energy

Howard has over 25 years of professional experience in the civil/environmental engineering field. Howard currently serves as Director of EHSR for Jonah Energy LLC which acquires and operates producing onshore oil and gas properties located in North America. In 2014 Jonah Energy closed on the acquisition of the Jonah Field located in Sublette County, Wyoming from Encana Corporation. The Jonah field has a total productive area of about 24,000 acres, over 1,600 producing wells, and estimated year-end 2013 proved reserves totaling approximately 1.5 trillion cubic feet equivalent (Tcfe). Prior to joining Jonah, Howard worked for RETTEW Associates, Inc., an ENR top Civil/Environmental design firm, where he started its Denver office and served as Regional Manager from 2012 through 2014. Howard is a registered professional engineer in CO and holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Penn State University.

As vice president Kari provides leadership in developing and executing strategy, manage Petroleum Council activities, and provide communication support for the association. A North Dakota native, Cutting has a diverse background in the state’s energy industry, including more than 25 years of experience in chemistry, sales, marketing and transportation.
Cutting received a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of North Dakota and a Master of Science in management from Minot State University.


Korby BrackenKorby Bracken – Environmental Health and Safety Manager – Anadarko Petroleum Corporation

Korby Bracken is an Environmental Health and Safety Manager, specializing in air quality, for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation’s Rockies assets. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. In addition to his Chemical Engineering degree he holds a Professional Environmental Engineer certification. Since graduation he has worked in many business sectors, including the New Source Review permitting group at the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality. Working for the State of Wyoming is where Korby found his interest in the air quality field. Prior to working for Anadarko, Korby worked for consulting firms emphasizing the oil and gas sector permitting and compliance. He serves as the co-chair for Colorado Oil & Gas Association’s air quality subcommittee and is an active member of Western Energy Alliance, Petroleum Association of Wyoming and Rocky Mountain EHS Peer Group.


Lee HavenLee Haven – Chief Strategy Officer – Loenbro

Loenbro is an energy services / maintenance construction company working throughout Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. Services include installation and repair of process piping, pressure vessels, and tanks; ultrasonic phased array pipe and tank inspection; anomaly detection and mitigation; heat treating, refinery plant maintenance and construction; HDPE water and gathering line fusion; pipeline welding and construction; and industrial insulation.

Addressing the intricate needs of oil and gas companies, Poe Leggette focuses his well-established practice on litigation and transactional work in the energy industry. His experience includes three principal areas of representation: onshore shale plays; oil and gas companies operating on federal and Indian lands; and companies operating under federal leases in the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, Poe serves as co-leader of the firm’s national Energy and Shale Practice teams.


Marc BridgenMarc Bridgen – Chief Marketing Officer – Oil & Gas Awards

Marc is the Chief Marketing Officer of the Oil & Gas Awards and will be the compere during the Industry Summit and at the Awards Gala dinner in the evening. The Oil & Gas Awards were launched in 2012 and are an initiative that recognises the outstanding achievements being made in the 7 main regions of the US and Canada, focusing on Health and Safety, Environmental Stewardship and good Corporate Citizenship.


Mark StanleyMark Stanley – President & CEO – Themark Corporation

Mark E. Stanley has worked in the oil industry as a hydraulic fracturing expert for 37 years. He started with Arco right out of college where he studied Chemical Engineering. He went back to college to get his MBA in 1987 and went to work as a partner with Clear Water in 1989. Working at the partner level gave him a more hands-on relationship with the industry and he learned to use his knowledge and background to fine-tune products to meet the specific needs of customers. During this phase of his work he developed patents for several products that are still used in the industry today. To the extent possible he wanted to focus on products that would not harm the environment and that would reduce customer’s need to meet EPA standards in handling them. He believed that ultimately the ability to reduce costs by reducing hazardous waste constrictions would serve the interest of both sides of any argument.


Michael BrueggemannMichael Brueggemann – District Manager – The Industrial Company

The TIC companies provide capabilities to effectively execute major industrial projects throughout a diversified marketplace, while maintaining a competitive structure regionally across North America. Started in 1974 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, TIC is a direct-hire general industrial construction company with annual contract awards of over $2 billion. TIC services a wide range of markets both in the United States and abroad, from heavy industrial (power, mining, industrial process and renewable energy), to environmental water and wastewater treatment, slipform erection, marine and general maintenance services.


Mike KingMike King – Executive Director – Colorado Department of Natural Resources

Mike King has led the Department of Natural Resources since 2010, navigating the agency through significant reorganization, regulatory accomplishments and landscape-scale protection under the direction of Governor John Hickenlooper. As Executive Director of DNR, King guided the creation of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, a merger of two previously stand-alone divisions that serves as an important example of Governor Hickenlooper’s efforts to shape a more efficient state government. King also shepherded the move of the Colorado Geological Survey from DNR to its new home at the Colorado School of Mines, where it can more cost-effectively serve Coloradans as a critical source of research and information.

Steve was elected as the Weld County Clerk & Recorder for his first term on November 5, 2002, and was sworn into office on January 2, 2003, as the 28th Clerk & Recorder for the County. He was re-elected in November of 2006 and again in November of 2010. He has worked for the Weld County Clerk and Recorder’s Office since July 1985. Steve has also held the positions of Chief Deputy and Deputy Clerk for the Weld County Clerk and Recorder’s Office. Before coming to Weld County, Steve was a Deputy Clerk for the Otero County Clerk and Recorder’s Office.
